GENERAL CONCEPT
Umye is a social network designed for artists and art lovers. Artists can create their own content, put it on sale, auctions, participate in prize draws. Art lovers can browse the art content and create their favorite artwork folders.
PROFILES
While the viewers’ accounts are basic, the artist account offer not only a insight of their gallery, but also a short autobiography and contact information.
LAYOUT
The app has 3 main screens: 1) home, on which one can see the post of artists that he follows and public reactions of other users he follows. 2) „search“ 3) my account, through which he has access to the filters, his profile, pins (saved posts), messages etc
FILTERS
The filters allow the users to search the content by the category of the artwork, the artist’s characteristics, the popularity of work, the motif and/or the price of the artwork. Filters can be saved. Thus, if one creates and saves a filter for photography from London based artists, he will easily be able to follow the photography development in London.
SALES
Umye enables the artist to offer they work for sale. If an artwork is offered for sale, it will be marked with an red squared “S”. Below the icons line, the price and a link to the price details will be shown. Price details should state weather taxes are included, if shipping is limited to certain countries and similar. It is important to note that Umye acts only as an advertisement platform. We don’t participate in financial transactions nor do we organise shipping. By clicking on the “S”, the user is forwarded to the artist’s contact information. Everything else is to be organised between the user and the artist (or his team).
AUCTIONS
Auctions are marked with an “A”. The artist defines the initial price and the duration of the auction. Users who are interested in the artwork are forwarded to the window seen on the right, where they can place their bid.
COMPETITIONS
Every user of the app can start a competition, that can be either public or private. Private competitions are only visible to artist who work in the categories the competition addresses. Post that are part of a competition are marked with a “C”. By klicking on the “C” the user is forwarded to the competition main page, where he can see all the application. If a user pins a competition, he will seeall further candidatures on his home screen.
BLOG
The app features a blog in which we write about interesting happenings in the art world, famous artist from the past and present, we present some interesting interviews and we also inform you about the developement of Umye as a company.
